The hazardous gases CO, HCs and NOX release from automobile exhaust pipe cause air pollution. By installing catalytic converters into automobile exhaust system, the precious metals-platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd) and rhodium (Rh), on the honeycomb surface of the converter accerate the oxidization and reduction reactions converting those hazardous material into harmless gases (CO2, N2, and H2O). Thus, the air pollution from auto-exhaust is efficiently reduced.
