Fuel pump assembly is the basic structure of the automotive fuel injection system, which sucks out the fuel from fuel tank to the pipe under certain pressure level, making sure the fuel goes to every fuel spray nozzle. Fuel pump works while engine is working and will stop when engine stops with ignition switch still on.
Most of fuel pumps in early stage are mechanical, which have been replaced by electrical fuel pumps now-days. In addition, those external fuel pump in the past were placed inside of fuel tank due to heat radiation and sound insulation integrated with the fuel level sensor as a fuel pump module.
Structure of fuel pump assembly:
Fuel pump assembly consists of fuel pump, carbon tank, primary strainer, filter, storage barrel, spring, fuel level sensor, connecting pipe, rollover valve, pressure regulator, flange plate, bracket etc. All components are connected by corrugated pipe and other seal parts.
